Mail Boys Dream was purchased out of the Ohio Select Yearling Sale in 2023. After making 6 starts and qualifying in 2:01 at Scioto, the ownership group decided to sell Mail Boy to dissolve the partnership and he was sold on OnGait.com. We wish his new owners good luck in racing him!
We purchased part of "Annie" as a yearling from trainer Ryan Miller, who bred her. She trained down great as a 2-year-old and was only a week or two away from qualifying when we found a broken chip off her sesamoid. After surgery and recovery time, we started her back, only to find a fracture. After more stall rest and turn out time, shortly after bringing her back a second time, she came up sore again. Because of the time of year, we decided to sell her as a broodmare prospect and she was sold on OnGait.com. We wish her new owners good luck in breeding her and look forward to seeing her foals in the future!
We purchased "Music" from OnGait.com in March 2022. Over two racing seasons, Music earned $48,225 in 71 starts. She was hot and cold, going on hot streaks where she couldn't miss the board but also got very sick in the summer of 2023. But through it all she was a pleasure to be around and such a sweetheart. Music was claimed from us in March 2024 and we wish her new connections success with her!
Ally was bred by trainer Ryan Miller and he offered HorsePlay part of her as a yearling. She was fierce on the fair circuit in both her 2- and 3-year-old seasons. Over 2 racing seasons plus one start as a 4-year-old, Ally had 16 wins in 44 starts with earnings of $83,850. Ally was claimed in February 2024 and we wish her new connections good luck on the track!
We purchased "Busy" as a yearling at the Ohio Selected Jug Sale. Over three seasons racing for us she earned $149,626 and took a lifetime mark of 1:52.4 in 2023 as a 4-year-old at Hoosier Park. We had so much fun racing Busy in her 67 lifetime starts and wish her well in her new home as a broodmare. She went to the same farm we sold Rockin The Blues to last year and cannot wait to see her foals! .
We purchased PJ as a yearling at the Buckeye Classic Yearling Sale. He fractured his pastern bone in June of his 2-year-old year so we gave him time off for it to heal. He came back and was race timed in 1:57.4 in the Spring of 2023 but then injured himself again. At that time, we rehabbed him and then sold him at the August Blooded Horse Sale.
Skippy was purchased in August 2022 from the Preferred Equine Online site. She came to us with two wins at Northfield but our trainers could not figure her out the key to her, so in November we sold her at the Blooded Horse Sale.
Cinderella was purchased out of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale in October 2021. She trained down all winter relatively well. Partway through her training, her gait changed and she had a lot of action up front; her legs went fast but she didn't get anywhere fast. After a qualifier at Scioto and a start at the fair in Lebanon, we decided to sell her.
We purchased Rockin The Blues as a 4-year-old at the February 2022 Blooded Horse Sale. After only a couple starts, it became apparent that we could not help her breathing issue like her previous trainer had. We found her a great home in a small broodmare band in Northeast Ohio.
Franny was purchased in November 2020 as a 2-year-old. She had 11 starts for her previous connections on the Ohio fair circuit and is a full sister to Stanford Court. We took her home and turned her out until late December. Franny trained down well all winter but had some issues tying up (think big muscle cramp) in the early spring. We moved her to the Schillaci barn and she really blossomed there while racing at Northfield Park. She earned $33,614 in 25 starts with 3 wins, 5 seconds and 7 thirds. We sold Franny at the November Blooded Horse Sale in 2021 and hope she does well for her new connections!
Fire Cross was purchased at the Ohio Select Sale as a yearling in 2019. He is a full brother to the standout colt Frasure Ridge, who was the Ohio 3-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year in 2017 and earned over $522,000 lifetime. Fire Cross overcame some trouble training down early in the late fall/early winter and qualified twice in June, winning both in 2:01.4 and 2:02.1. We took the Sire Stakes route with him and he raced in the 4 legs and the Ohio State Fair race. His best time was 1:58.1. Fire Cross's 2021 3-year-old campaign was off to a rocky start but then he seemed to put it all together and knocked off a couple wins, 4 seconds and a fourth in two months. He won the Parshall Futurity at his home track in Greenville and earned over $42,638 and took a lifetime mark of 1:56 at Scioto. We sold Fire Cross at the November Blooded Horse Sale in 2021 and wish his new connections luck with him!
